ProLabs EON-OMP family of products is a compact multi-service platform that can be configured to support a variety of features and functionalities. This new cost-efficient platform allows network operators to proactively monitor DWDM line systems in their access network, combining two complementary monitoring methods, an optical channel monitor (OCM) and an optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR). Whether utilized for distributed access architectures (DAA) or dedicated fiber business services, all interface modules are hot-swappable and can be configured in any mix, catering for the specific required functionality.
Fiber monitoring is the ongoing assessment of the quality of the fiber infrastructure within a network. The process uses software, data, and tools such as OMP, to continually provide transparency of a management system. With advanced monitoring and automation, OMP forms a reliable collection of tools to detect any faults on fiber, highlighting degradation and security intrusions, then alarming the operator immediately through the software to allow quick response and repair - this ultimately will save any downtime in the network and avoid costly disruptions.
The OMP is a chassis with a suite of interchangeable modules and enhanced services allowing flexibility to grow any network. By combining OCM and OTDR capabilities, up to 48-fibers are shared egressing a given facility. Ultimately, this improves customer experience by eliminating the initial troubleshooting truck roll, all while providing a critical step in driving higher reliability for reducing operating costs.
The platform supports a wide array of interface modules including:
